How To Make Blackened Chicken And Eat Sushi & Pizza For Dinner

My recipe for disaster....

by Suze

Step #1
  • Buy Chicken Parts on sale at Safeway

Step #2

  • Turn on BBQ grill.

Step #3
  • When heated turn to low and place chicken parts on the grill. Close lid.

Step #4
  • Walk away and leave grill unattended for approximately 10 minutes. In the meantime sit at your computer desk and browse Facebook, email, and/or various people's blogs.

Step #5

  • After about 5-8 minutes you will notice a slight burning smell. Not the type of good food cooking, but of actual burning. Proceed to check on grill.

Step #6

  • You will now see flames rising high behind your grill. This is typical when making blackened chicken.

Step #7

  • Move your grill from the deck fence (so that it doesn't set the rest of the house on fire) and turn off grill. Your grill will still be emitting flames. This is still normal.

***This next step is very important and cannot be omitted***

Step #8

  • Panic!

Step #9

  • Holler for your husband!

Step #10
  • Repeat Step #8

Step #11

  • Continue hollering for your husband and make sure he is sitting in the bathtub, while you holler.

Step #12

  • Repeat Step #8

Step #13

  • Make sure your husband is in your bathrobe when he comes down the stairs.

Step #14

  • Repeat Step #8

Step #15

  • Get out the fire extinguisher.

Step #16

  • Make sure you don't know how to use an extinguisher so that your husband can be the brave man and put out the fire himself.

Step #17

  • Take pictures so that you can blog and laugh about it days later.

The final and most important step....

Step #18

  • Go out and get pizza for your hubby the hero (and the kids) for dinner and get comfort food (SUSHI) for yourself.

THE END

***PLEASE! Do not try this at home***

And just so you know, Dan thought I had fallen thru the deck again and was relieved when he saw that it was JUST a fire!

Dan you're my hero!

Thanks for the laugh! I started crying I was laughing so hard.

I don't think BBQing is your thing this year.

Sounds like a great recipe. I'll have to try it sometime! Can it be done without a deck? And we have no back yard, so it will have to be done in the front. I think the neighbors will appreciate this...

But on the serious side, I'm glad no one was hurt (again)!
