Sir Mix-A-Lot

We've been adding a lot to our family lately and this guy is no exception. I'd like you to meet

Sir Mix A-Lot

......my new blender.

Oh good sir.......what did I ever do without you?

Seriously one of the best investments I've made lately (and trust me, I've made a lot lately). I use him at least twice a day. He's so easy to clean. He's helping me become healthier. He works harder than anything I've ever seen. He has so many different functions. And best of all, he came in my favorite color.

The other day I made a smoothie. Here's what I put in it:

Grapes

Orange

Brussel Sprouts

Broccoli

Snap Peas

Spinach

Banana

The result?

Don't let this "Green Goop" deceive you.

Our panel of highly critical taste testers
put it to the test for you.

What did our first taste tester say when she tasted it?

"Mmmmm. Banana."

And the other said to me:

"Mom? Can you make dis again?"

Kid tested.......Suze approved!

Oh yeah. This thing rocks. I HIGHLY recommend one.

I've been contemplating getting a better blender since we've been eating lots of smoothies.

The new kitties are so cute!

Seriously? How much of each did you put in? I want to try this out on my picky eater.

It's about 2 cups of grapes, a small handful of snap peas, a few broccoli, 3 brussel sprouts, a quarter of an orange and half a banana. The Blendtech blender set on the "Juice" cycle and voila! A healty smoothie that tastes mostly like banana.

Jen, the Blendtech blender is SO awesome! Check to see if they have it at your local Costco. When they demo it, it's cheaper and when you buy it at Costco, you get an extended warranty on it.

SO WORTH IT!!!

So first, I was like, "brussel sprouts with grapes? yuck!" Then, I saw your kids enjoying it and I had to stop to reconsider. Isn't it funny how our point of view changes so quickly when we see someone else do something that we thought was unlikely or impossible? Blendtech - is that the "will it blend" blender? Can you make smoothies in regular blenders? I've been having trouble adding in enough fresh vegetables lately. You've given me new resolve to try making smoothies at home. Wow! What if your post actually gave me a way to get my 5 servings of veggies every day? I have some carrots - I'll see what my regular blender does with them. Here's to good health! :D

PS Check out my "blogger" page (tab at top of page) for blogging tips from excellent bloggers. Maybe you'll find something that you can add in to help you spread the word and make the world a healthier place.

What if I really made eating brussel sprouts a habit? If your little girl liked it, surely I can manage it? I'll accept the challenge (gulp - or should I say slurp?)

That IS the "Will it blend?" Blender. I really struggle with the "getting enough veggies in the system" thing and this has really helped.

I'm not sure a regular blender would work. This baby has a powerful motor! But I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

I checked out your blog. I'll have to read more in the future. But until then Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

OK, I just made my first smoothie! I think your blender probably is more powerful than mine. But I managed to make a carrot-apple-cranberry juice smoothie! Now, need to go shopping for brussel sprouts, broccoli and oranges. I think you may have solved a my "not enough fresh veggies" problem. Thanks for showing your kids enjoying their smoothies. That worked to put me in action. Look at you, making the world a healthier place, one heart at at time :D

So glad I visited SITS today!

Brussel sprouts?

You lost me at brussel sprouts....

I would love it though if you could send Sir Mix-a-Lot's brother my way!
