Anyways I sang a non-LDS song called Via Dolorosa. (Look it up on YouTube, if you like. There are MANY versions of it on there, but trust me, mine was tamed down to be "Sacrament meeting worthy"). I have a recording of it done by a missionary and it's always been one of my favorite songs, sung by him (even though I have no idea who he is.....got it from a friend of mine). I was so glad I got the opportunity to sing it.
Happy Sunday everyone!
Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see
The Man condemned to die on Calvary
He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head
And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for His death
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King,
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me.
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary.
The blood that would cleanse the souls of all men
Made its way through the heart of Jerusalem.
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary

Once I was in a Stake Conference where the choir director turned around in the middle of the song and sang the solo himself.... :D What you don't want to favor yourself like THAT?
I have heard of this song, but I'm not sure I have heard it. Off to listen.
Um.......no
