Well Dan’s finished his crunch period at work, we’re moved in to our new apartment, we had a visit in Tri-Cities with Dan’s family last weekend, we’ve got new renters in our house in W. Richland, helped our friend’s the Chambers move, and we’re on a roll! We’ve had visits with friends, (finally), got to go to church activities, (Trunk or Treat) been to a fireside/lecture by Dr. Parry (Professor of Hebrew Bible and Dead Sea Scrolls at BYU) on the Dead Sea Scrolls (which was “interesting” on two levels), in a couple of weeks my dad and his family are coming down for a visit as well as the following week being the party to celebrate me being old. I tell ya, it feels so great to have Dan back to normal. In fact he’s been able to take some time off, so we can work on arranging our new apartment, although most of the time we just chill together or go shopping. We’ve been out car shopping, although we’re not buying a car anymore. I think we’re just going to keep repairing Caroline, and she needs major work done again (another $900! OYE!). But we did fall in love with the Chrysler Pacifica, which both of us had not ever heard of and would’ve never have looked at one, had we not seen a “pre-owned” (can’t say “used” anymore….YEESH!) one at one of the lots we went to. It drove very nicely and is very roomy, even for an adult to sit in the back. But I think we’ll wait another 6-12 months to consider paying a chunk of cash to buy a car. Plus the fact that we’re trying to save up to pay for an adoption which is another huge chunk of cash. But we’ve been pretty spoiled not having a car payment and paying really cheap insurance, that we couldn’t handle what it would take to be driving a newer vehicle, so that’s why we’re not getting one. But it sure felt nice to rent a car and go to the Tri-Cities for the weekend. Enterprise has a great weekend deal and we found out we can take a car across the border, so we’ll be able to come up more often to visit. But since a lot of our friends and family are coming down during the rest of this year to visit us, we’re not going to bother until the new year.
Last Wednesday was our ward’s Trunk or treat party and for those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s well, a typical Halloween party at first with games and costume parades for all of the kiddies while the adults socialize, except at the end everyone goes to their cars outside and some people decorate the trunks of their cars (or “boot” as Dan and I say…..that’s how they call it in England and Dan lived there for 2 years but he says it so much that I call it that now) and then you just sit there and wait for the kids to come by and say “trick or treat”. That simple. Anyways I had decided that I didn’t really want to go, but when I told Dan about it the day before, he got really excited and wanted to go, cause he hasn’t socialized with anyone from church in many, many months. Anyways it was too late to gather any costume at the last minute and I simply couldn’t NOT go dressed up, but I couldn’t find any of my past costumes, ……so I thought up something at the last minute. I went as “What NOT to Wear”. I totally clashed my outfit and did my hair and makeup really badly and gave myself a mono-brow and I looked like I needed a serious style makeover. A lot of people thought I was “80’s girl” cause of my hair and makeup, but when I showed them the sign I wore on my back to say what my costume was, they were all like, “OH! I get it!” I thought it was a clever idea that I came up with, don’t you? Anyways we had a great time and I’m glad that I went.

Anyways that’s all for now. I’m just glad Dan and I have our lives back and we can plan ahead to visit with friends and do all sorts of things. YAY to sanity!
